Product Description
Autodesk OnSite Desktop
Now Autodesk brings spatial data analysis and 2D/3D visualization
and civil engineering tools into one desktop application.
Many forms of data, one integrated display. Autodesk® OnSite
Desktop 7 software integrates mapping and civil engineering data
into a single accurate display, then analysis tools help you take
measurements, query objects, build buffers, and perform what if
scenarios. And Autodesk OnSite Desktop helps you author compelling,
presentation-ready interactive maps for print or web publication.
Autodesk OnSite Desktop helps you get the most from your spatial
and design data.
Features
Autodesk® OnSite Desktop 7 software is an easy-to-use data
integration, visualization, analysis, and presentation tool for
presenting data from multiple sources, whether it’s on the desktop
or via the Internet. It adds key capabilities to Autodesk’s
mapping and civil product offerings:
- Autodesk Map Series software combines mapping, raster
integration, and map data analysis tools in a single
package that addresses the complete workflow of mapping
and infrastructure management.
- Autodesk® Civil Series is an integrated toolset designed
to get any civil engineering and surveying job done efficiently.
In both of these offerings, Autodesk OnSite Desktop provides a
desktop analysis component that brings together multiple sources
of data in many different formats, then queries, analyzes, and
presents that data to meet business needs. Autodesk OnSite Desktop
7 is built on Microsoft® .NET technology and enables you to
utilize the advantages offered by Microsoft .NET, including
stronger security and improved reliability.
New! Application Programming Interface (API)
This API, based on .NET technology, gives you the tools to extend
the functionality of Autodesk OnSite Desktop. Your partners and
developers can make modifications such as focusing the user
interface on a specific function or automating attribute editing
and validation.
New!3 D visualization
Supports the ability to view 3D terrain data as well as drape
other data such as LandXML or raster data over the terrain. You
can also orbit the 3D data and set up different camera locations
from which to view it.
New! Civil Engineering Analysis
Civil engineering analysis tools enable operations such as
calculating the elevation difference between two surfaces,
calculating the cut/fill volume between two surfaces,
determining the view from a given point in a given direction,
and modeling floods.
New! Workflow enhancements
Enhancements include the ability to share projects easily with
other OnSite Desktop users, to customize the user interface
without using the API, and to edit markup objects that have
already been written to the map.
New! Support for New Data Formats
Support for LandXML, used by surveyors, land developers, and
civil engineers to pass data from one phase of a design project
to another, and digital elevation model (DEM) data. Includes
the ability to access LandXML data elements such as points,
pipes, alignments, and parcels and to display them in both
graphical and tabular form.
New! Reporting
The reporting engine, a utility for generating reports based
on project data, creates reports for basic mapping and civil
information. Includes style sheets to provide templates for
reports on roads, parcels, points, surface models, and pipes.
Thematic Mapping
Query and thematic mapping functionality enables you to
create new visualizations based on feature attribute,
object, or linked data.
Markup and Redline
Simple, intuitive markup functionality that can be saved
as RML allows users to digitally mark up designs and maps
during analysis.
Measurement
Accurately measure the length of lines, edges of solids,
as well as distance between two or more points and the
area defined by a series of points.
Data formats
Many data formats are supported, avoiding the need for
data conversion: DWG, Oracle® Spatial, Autodesk
MapGuide® SDF (spatial data file), SHP plus (through
the FME Spatial Data Provider) ESRI coverages and
E00, MicroStation® DGN, and MapInfo® MID/MIF.
Object query
Query spatial and data attributes on selected objects,
enabling you to identify key information object type,
name, exact coordinate location, length of lines,
perimeter of polygons and more about the selected
object.
High-resolution printing and plotting
You can plot both the data extents and the current
view to a user-specified scale for greater usability.
The Print Preview function further enhances your
ability to create professional-looking maps.
Symbology Support
Symbol library includes over 500 useful, map-related
symbols. Raster Workshop Supports most raster formats:
TGA, CALS, PNG, FLIC, PCX, BMP, JPEG, MrSID®, ECW,
and TIFF.
How You Benefit Print
Faster Project Turnarounds
Autodesk® OnSite Desktop software helps your business maximize
the value of your existing spatial, mapping, and civil
engineering data. Because it reads and writes most raster
formats, including MrSID® and ECW, you save the time and
resources needed to translate data.
Convincing Presentations
Sharp, easy-to-read, thematic maps help you put together
presentations that people will remember. The data publishing
tools in Autodesk OnSite Desktop enable you to create high-
quality maps, files, and civil engineering data that not
only reflects your data and analysis, but your brand as well.
Extracting More Value
The versatile analysis tools in Autodesk OnSite Desktop
software help you manage infrastructure and better understand
customer, business, and marketplace demographics. You can:
- Take measurements
- Query objects
- Build buffers
- Perform "what if" scenarios
Plus, civil engineering tools help you calculate elevations and
cut/fill volumes, run flood analyses, and more. Autodesk OnSite
Desktop helps you get the most from your design data and maps.
